Creating Our Logo

Within our group I was given the task of creating the logo for our film company 'Pandora Pictures'.
Initial Draft
At first I did a very simple and draft idea for the logo, based on our initial thougths on what Pandora was and what it represented.
Draft idea after development
We decided to incorporate the idea of something being released into the world, which in this case would be the opening of our new company and the films we would produce. Another initial aspect we explored was the fact that pandora was a box so I tried to apply this into our logo.
We also chose to use colours that reflected the genre of the film we produced for our coursework, dark and dangerous such as black and red.
In order to be sure whether we wanted our logo to explore those ideas we decided to further develop the initial draft and make it more polished. We decided to keep the box idea but changed it's colours since the previous colours were too strong and clashed with the film title. We also changed the form of the box to make it look more magical. However the end result was too 'light' making it not very suitable for our film company, it looked more like a jewelry brand logo.
This print screen shows me working on our logo using photoshop.
After my earlier attempts I decided to completely scrap the pervious box idea and turn the focus of the design from what the term pandora meant into what we stood for as a company.
This time I decided to make the logo resemble a woman's face because of the fact that our company is run by females, me and Anika and our films try to give female actresses empowering roles e.g making them the villain or the only survivor.

This is our final logo.
Also, I tried to incorporate the fact that we are a film company, which is why I added 3D glasses to our logo, in order to make it more suitable for the product. Over all the logo is simple and presents this idea of our audience ready to watch a film (with their glasses on)

These are the other logos I created before arriving at the final design.
